Scottish Enterprise, Scotland’s national economic development agency, has awarded a £2.9 million ($3.5M / €3.2M) Research and Development grant to M Squared, a photonics and quantum technology company based in Glasgow.
The funding will be used to accelerate M Squared’s program of laser and photonics systems development. This includes work on quantum technology, where the company is developing systems to detect hidden objects and navigation, to help detect, diagnose and treat brain disease, and to help detect threats and oil and gas leaks.
